From our humble beginnings as a "mom and pop” type operation to hosting the largest gatherings of Canadians in Boston, the MIT Canadians Club has been in operation as early as 1991 to support fellow Canadians and Friends of Canada! Over the years we have sponsored the undefeated Canadian Hockey Teams (such as the Loonies), spreading Canadian delicacies such as Poutine, Nanaimo bars, and Timmies to all comers, meeting with 3+ generations of Consul Generals, and more in efforts to make Cambridge feel a little more like home. These days, we ambitiously strive to provide the best social events, supports, and professional connections for Canadians at MIT and other local area schools.
Prime Minister; Our fearless leader, Adam is a PhD student in Electrical Engineering developing smart biomedical devices, sensors, and interfaces with Prof. Chandrakasan and Prof. Traverso. Born and raised in Toronto, he is always free to watch a Raptors game and wants to connect with every Canadian at MIT while here. Adam has been our Prime Minister since 2021, and an active member of the MIT-Canadian community before that. When he is not busy in the lab, you'll find him skiing, sailing, or running a Canadians Club event for you!
Deputy Prime Minister; Lorne is a Master's student in MIT's Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, investigating materials in high temperature gas-cooled reactors. Born and raised in Toronto, Lorne is a proud (but often disappointed) Leafs fan and an avid Formula One fan. His passion for connecting with the Canadian community abroad led him to join the club as an executive for the past two years.
Cabinet Minister; Mitchell Mitchell is an MBA student at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Prior to attending Sloan, he worked at Hatch based out of Mississauga. In his free time, Mitchell is a fan of pretty much all sports, particularly hockey
